The International Day of the World’s Indigenous People was first proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in December 1994, to be celebrated every year during the first International Decade of the World’s Indigenous People (1995 – 2004). The National NAIDOC Committee has decided to postpone NAIDOC Week 2020 (5 July - 12 July) in the interest of safety for our communities and it will now run 8-15th November. NAIDOC week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
