ILO is a support that lets you choose where you want to live and who you want to live with.
ILO supports work with other funded supports and services you receive and the assistance you might get from informal supports like family, friends or community.
The ILO is flexible, so you can design what works best for you. Live with a friend, a mentor, or on your own while getting all the formal and informal supports you need.
Our Community Housing Provider will work with you to identify ways of alternative living. The process happens in two stages:
- Stage 1: we will work with you to explore and design where and how you want to live and what supports you need in your home.
Together, we will design your unique plan, using both paid and unpaid supports and recommend the best living options for you.
- Stage 2: is to implement your plan. We assist you in settling into the home of your choice. Then once you are there, we do regular check–ins to ensure it’s working for you.
You can change your individualised living option supports if your needs change. They are designed to provide the safety, stability and flexibility you need.
Properties I can live in
Your ILO funding doesn’t cover the cost of the property that you live in. Instead, it covers a flexible package of supports that are designed for you.
An apartment on your own in the city with drop-in support? A house in the suburbs with friends and shared support? There are many options to choose from.
NDIS Support Categories
ILO is funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Living in your NDIS plan and stated as a separate line item.
The NDIS does not fund the cost of the property itself, rent, board, transport, and other day-to-day expenses such as food and activities.
Please note: We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide, which generally increases annually.
