Mental Health Carers & Work

Are you a carer of someone living with a mental illness and would like help to work, volunteer or study?

We understand it can be difficult to care for someone living with a mental health condition.  When you are the sole carer, it can be challenging to seek the support you need to get established in the workforce, learning or volunteer space.

Our Carers & Work program provides practical assistance for people who have been caring for someone living with mental health issues.

We can assist with:

  • Information and referral
  • Education and training
  • Workplace advocacy and education
  • Helping you become work-ready

The program is available to people who:

  • are currently carers, or have ceased long-term care within the last two years
  • are seeking employment or increased employment and available to undertake a role or training
  • have undergone an eligibility and needs assessment
  • are aged between 16 and 65 years
