Bunyarah-ga Wellbeing

Bunyarah-ga Connecting our Mob, is about supporting adults, young people and families.

Based at the Connections Centre in Tweed Heads South, Bunyarah-ga promotes community well-being and increases understanding of drug and alcohol abuse for Aboriginal people.

Key communities involved include members from the Minjungbal tribe, Yaegl Tribe, Bundjalung Tribe, Githabal Tribe, Torres Strait Islanders and South Sea Islander communities.

Yarning Circles are organised regularly for men and women and there are a wide range of culturally appropriate supports available including:

  • Helping with legal issues
  • Helping you with child support
  • Support carers needing a break
  • Support you with police liaison
  • Support you going to court
  • Help you to connect to family
  • Help you complete forms
  • Support you with education

Our Youth Connect Initiative is delivered to young people in schools. It connects and educates about the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, through presentations and information.

The Connections Centre is at 34 Cunningham St, Tweed Heads South.
