A recent promotion awarded to our talented team member Ciara is a real-life example of our promise. Ciara started working with Momentum Collective in 2020. She loved her job but took a short break in 2021 to travel around Australia. When she returned, she continued working in the Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) team and found new ways to grow and learn.

“What I like most about Momentum is how they enable us all to grow in our jobs. The managers and my teammates are always supportive and we work well together.”

This kind of support and teamwork has led to Ciara being promoted eight months into her pregnancy just last month, supported by another team member who will fill her new Team Leader role while she is on maternity leave.

Growing in Her Career

To Ciara, moving up in her career means getting support to try new things and take on challenges. It’s about growing both personally and professionally.

“Career advancement means being encouraged to explore new opportunities and having a strong support system. This encouragement has made me more confident and better at my job.”

Executive Manager of Corporate Solutions, Maryann Groth, believes that offering staff the opportunity to try new roles that fit their goals and aspirations is paramount to their success.

“We have an extensive program where staff get together with their managers regularly to discuss career growth and short and long-term goals. With every program we develop, we are always thinking of ways to be supportive and listen to our employees”, says Maryann.

Looking Forward to Motherhood

Going on maternity leave to embark on her next life adventure, Ciara is very excited about her future.

Upon her return from maternity leave, Ciara is excited to take on the role of Team Leader, working with women experiencing domestic and family violence. This promotion is well-deserved.

“I look forward to spending time with my family and becoming a mother. It’s going to be a special time for us. It’s also gratifying to know that I have an amazing role to return once I’m ready and a supportive environment that would allow me to reach my personal and professional goals.”
