National Recycling Week is a vital reminder for us to reflect on our waste-reduction efforts and consider adopting sustainable lifestyle habits that can positively impact our environment in the long term. At Momentum Collective, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices, whether through using recyclable materials in our merchandise items or advocating for second-hand shopping.

Momentum’s Recycler’s Op Shop in Tweed Heads and Savage Shed in Ballina offer an impressive array of high-quality, pre-loved items, ranging from furniture and white goods to musical instruments, tools, bric-a-brac, electronic gadgets, clothing, books, toys, and more.

Our Op Shop and Salvage Shed serve a higher purpose. Through Momentum Collective’s Supported Employment Service, we provide supported employment opportunities working in our Australian Disability Enterprises (ADE). These shops offer meaningful employment to people living with a disability, provide opportunities to learn new skills and earn a good wage in addition to the disability pension.

The Salvage Shed, operating within the Ballina Waste Facility in collaboration with Ballina Shire Council, is a pivotal component of our recycling efforts. This initiative diverts significant amounts of reusable items from landfills, effectively reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing and promoting sustainable item reuse.

In this National Recycling Week, we invite you to be a part of the solution by choosing sustainable, second-hand items for your Christmas shopping and everyday household needs. By shopping at Momentum Collective’s Op Shops, you’re not only finding great bargains but also actively contributing to an eco-friendlier future and supporting employment opportunities for individuals living with disabilities or mental health.
